GIZEH SCHOLARSHIP

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

We are proud to have partnered with German company GIZEH to present the GIZEH Scholarship Programme. The scholarship provides an opportunity for 3 students (1 per intake) from disadvantaged backgrounds to attend our flagship 12-week Cannabis Industry 101 course at our campus in Rivonia Johannesburg.

GIZEH provides premium papers, roll-up filters, filter tubes, and accessories distributed in over 80 countries worldwide. Established in 1920, the scholarship program presents a significant opportunity to contribute to supporting underprivileged communities and offering those less fortunate the chance to enter the dynamic emerging Cannabis or hemp industry.

REQUIREMENTS:
The scholarship is for our 12-week Cannabis Industry 101 course that includes a 4-week internship with placement provided and includes full tuition for the 12 weeks.

Please note that the successful candidate(s) will need to cover their accommodation, meals and transport from home to the campus and back Monday to Thursday, as well as from home to the Jazzfarm in Lanseria and back every Friday during the 12 weeks. Any cost associated with an internship are also for the candidates own account.

This is a challenging course and is designed for those disciplined and committed enough to keep focused and work hard. In your application you will be required to answer a number of questions about Cannabis so only serious applicants should apply.

- come from a disadvantaged background
- be able to get to and from our campus in Rivonia
- be able to get to and from the Jazzfarm in Lanseria

DAGGA COUPLE SCHOLARSHIP

The Dagga Couple scholarship has been set up in partnership with Fields of Green for ALL in remembrance and to celebrate the life of Cannabis activist Julian Stobbs who was murdered at his home on the outskirts of Johannesburg in an armed robbery in 2020. The incident caused shockwaves through the local and international Cannabis community and came as a huge blow to the movement lobbying and driving Cannabis legalisation in South Africa.

Julian Stobbs and his partner Myrtle Clarke, aka The Dagga Couple, are the founders of Fields of Green for ALL, South Africa’s first Cannabis legalisation Non-Profit Company. They made significant progress due to their well publicised High Court challenge to the constitutionality of Cannabis prohibition and spent many years creating an extensive social activism campaign seeking an inclusive Cannabis drug policy and the liberalisation of the plant.

As a Cannabis community we are deeply grateful to Julian and Myrtle for the sacrifice and commitment that they have made which allows many of us to work in the industry today. While Julian is missed by the entire Cannabis community, his name lives on and this scholarship is a humble tribute to an incredible human being who followed his heart and left a positive mark on our world.

Julian Stobbs - RIP - Lost but never forgotten.
